Bayfield Dirt is seeking an Office Manager to be responsible for handling clerical tasks in our office. You will be handling incoming phone calls and other communication, greeting customers and visitors, as well as managing files, updating paperwork and other documents, and performing general office clerk duties and errands. Bookkeeping and payroll experience is required.
In order to be selected as a candidate, you will need the ability to write clearly and be proficient with Microsoft Word. A pleasing personality with strong teamwork, organization and communication skills is highly valued. Accuracy in your work and timeliness is also important.
The hours of the position are flexible and some work may be done remotely. Pay starts at $15/hour depending on experience and will be discussed during the interview process.

Bayfield Dirt is seeking a skilled, reliable general laborer to join our team. In this position you will be responsible for assisting contractors, operating heavy machinery and following all site health and safety regulations. A strong work ethic and attention to detail are essential.
The hours of the position are 8 am – 4 pm. Pay is flexible depending on experience and will be discussed during the interview process.
General Labor Duties and Responsibilities
- Unload tools, prepare building site materials, stack building materials, and set up equipment
- Follow project instructions from supervisor
- Use construction and maintenance tools and equipment to complete daily tasks
- Follow all health and safety regulations when operating equipment
- Ensure regulated and proper ear plugs, gloves, safety glasses and clothing are worn as needed
- Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner
- Safely operate a variety of tools including pressure washers, drills, saws, grinders, and blowtorches
- Digging, moving dirt, or organizing materials as needed
- Provide assistance to contractors as needed
- Keep Shop areas clean and orderly
- Ensure construction equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly
- High school degree or equivalent educational experience; vocational school or trade apprenticeships a plus
- Must be 18 years of age
- Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 40 pounds
- Positive attitude and work ethic
- Able to work independently or as an active member of a team
- Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
- Valid driver’s license

- Operate trucks of various sizes in loading, hauling and unloading of sand, gravel and stone
- Operate construction equipment such as backhoe, dumptruck and front-end loader
- Works with, and assists other crew members in loading and unloading materials from vehicles
- Ensure that company equipment is maintained, kept cleaned and stored in a safe manner
- Check filters and grease equipment
- Proactively communicate with supervisor and coworkers
- Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards
Heavy Equipment Operator Requirements and Qualifications
- Operation Monitoring: The ability to read gauges, dials and other indicators, and adjust as necessary
- Must have the ability to work in all types of conditions
- Experience in operating heavy machinery, and understanding tasks at hand
- Able to pass a drug test
- Be able to recognize safety issues
- Ability to work without close supervision once directed on task
- Valid driver’s license
